"Thank you for sharing the book, 'My Daddy Does GOOD Things, Too!' with me. I put it in my old briefcase with every intention of reading it right away. I got so buried in our projects that I forgot it was there. When I rediscovered it a couple of weeks ago, I made it a priority and read it in one sitting! In the first few pages, I was a little skittish wondering if it would glamorize prison life for young children. However, as I got into the story, I found it to be very compelling. It has just the right blend of "teaching and learning" with all of the elements of an engaging story. The book clearly points out that there are consequences for wrong choices in life and teaches about compassion for children who are separated from a beloved parent. The book points out the importance of open and honest communication and reminds us of the hurt we can impose on others with judgmental attitudes and hurtful words. While reading this story, I was reminded of the research on resiliency and how it only takes ONE caring adult to make a difference in a child's life. Great book! I'll certain recommend it to others, especially my pastor sons."
